Dodgers trade Puig, Kemp and Wood to Reds for Bailey and prospects

22 december 2018 01:28

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds finally came to an agreement.

Los Angeles traded Matt Kemp, Alex Wood, infielder/catcher Kyle Farmer and Yasiel Puig to the Reds for pitcher Homer Bailey, prospects Josiah Gray and Jeter Downs and cash considerations.

Bailey waived his no-trade clause, which he acquired with 10-and-5 rights. He has played 10 years in MLB and the last five with one team.

There is still a lot of money locked up in each player. Puig will be owed several million this season in arbitration, Kemp is owed $21.5million in 2019 and Bailey has two years remaining on the six-year, $105m deal he signed with the Reds in 2014.

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said Friday the team will grant Bailey his release.
